Artist Village

The Artist Village was the post-war office of the Army Supply Command Military Law Division, and the first semi-detached dependents’ building for high-ranking officials of the Ministry of National Defense in Home Village after World War Two, and it was allocated to two families during its military dependents’ village period. The façade of the building was designed in the post-war style: the original façade was similar to traditional Japanese accommodations, with a base wall, ventilation windows, a wooden structure, and a sloped roof with tiles. The wall is mainly created with hollow bricks to bear weight and painted with cement paint. The overall structure shows two connecting buildings and courtyards, and the wall between the two houses is painted in different colors to mark the boundary between the two households.
